Canadian Training Center: Faculty

 
  Brent Bunting P.Eng.
Brent joined Simpson in September 2001. He came to us from a consulting engineering firm specializing in the design and detailing of structures built with heavy timber, glulam and engineered wood products. One of his most interesting projects has been The Jackson Triggs Winery in Niagara-On-The-Lake, ON. Brent attended The University of Western Ontario where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Science. Brent sits on some of Canada's Associations responsible for the creation and improvement of Canada's Building Codes.
  Pat Cross
Pat joined Simpson in April 1999 as a Retail Specialist covering Western Canada. Pat graduated from BCIT in 1989 where he studied Administrative Management. Prior to joining Simpson Strong-Tie Pat worked for a full line Hardware Distributor covering the Vancouver area. Pat is now our Technical Sales Representative covering the B.C. Market.
  Terry Ferris
Terry has been with Simpson Strong-Tie Canada since May 2003. He covers New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Price Edward Island and Newfoundland as our Technical Sales Representative for Connectors, Anchors and Quik Drive. Terry has worked in the Contractor Building Supply Industry for over 16 years across Canada. He has great understanding of the Contractor and Retail Supply needs. Terry is active in the Atlantic Wood Truss Fabricators Association as well as the  Retail Building Supply Association.
  Martin Leduc
Martin has been with Simpson since September 2000. Martin is a Graduate of the Architectural Technology Program. Martin has an extensive background history with Engineered Wood Industry, working for some of Canada's Largest Manufacturers of wood I beams. He is our Technical Sales Representative for both Anchors and Connectors in the province of Quebec.
  Genady Lubarsky
Genady joined Simpson in November 2003. He has been involved in Engineered Wood and Building Components engineering and technical support since 1997. During this time he gained solid knowledge in designing with Wood Trusses, Engineered Wood Products and Cold Formed Steel. Genady is our Branch Engineer for Eastern Canada and is a registered Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario..

   
  Mel Stratechuk
Mel is a graduate of the Civil Engineering Technology program at NAIT and currently holds a Certified Engineering Technologist designation from ASET as well as a Certified Sales Professional designation from CPSA. Mel has been the Technical Sales Representative for the Prairie Provinces since March 2005 and has over 18 years of Engineered Wood and Plate Truss experience in residential, multi-family and light commercial wood frame construction.
  Fred Tai, P.Eng.
Fred joined Simpson in May 2003 via the acquisition of MGA Connectors.  His background prior to joining Simpson is in the design of wood structures in both residential and commercial projects.  He also spent a couple of years working for a consulting structural firm located in Vancouver.  Fred attended the University of British Columbia and received a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. He attended ASTM (D07 - Wood) as a voting member, was involved in a Forintek TaskGroup on Floor Vibration, and is currently part of the Canadian Wood Council  / Wood-Works Program in British Columbia as a technical expert. 
  Rick Ward, C.E.T.
Rick has been with Simpson Strong-Tie Canada since October 2001. He covers the Ontario Region and is our Technical Sales Representative for that province. Rick has been in the field of Engineered Wood and Building Supplies wholesale for over 17 years, with some of Canada's largest Manufacturers / distributors. He really has a good understanding of our very diverse market because he has worked and lived all over our great nation. Rick Ward is a graduate of Humber College's Architectural Technology program and is currently a Certified Engineer Technologist.
