Product Details
The SUBE wall-stud bridging connector for cold-formed steel (CFS) is designed to connect cold-rolled channel (CRC) at the end of a wall or single-stud jamb condition, or at the ends of panel walls, curtain walls or load-bearing conditions.
The connector is installed on the open side of the stud with screws to the stud lips, effectively limiting drywall buildup and creating a safer working environment as sharp-point screw perforations through the web are eliminated. Additionally, the SUBE does not require any special tools or clamping during installation as it features outer flanges that enable the connector to fit snugly over the open side of the stud. By eliminating the potential for drywall bulge and onsite safety issues, you'll be able to save time and improve efficiencies on the jobsite.

Installation
- The SUBE is connected to the open face of the stud and is attached to the lip of stud with (2) #10 screws. Fasten the u-channel to the clip with (2) #10 screws.

- Allowable loads are for use when utilizing Allowable Stress Design (ASD) methodology. For Load and Resistance Factor Design (LRFD) loads, multiply the ASD tabulated values by 1.6.
- Allowable brace strengths are based on ultimate test load divided by a safety factor. Serviceability limit is not considered, as brace stiffness requirements are given in section C2.3 of AISI S100-2016. Contact Simpson Strong-Tie if nominal brace strength is required.
- Tabulated stiffness values apply to both ASD and LRFD designs.
- Allowable loads consider bridging connection only. It is responsibility of the designer to verify the strength and serviceability of the framing members.
- Allowable loads are based on the use of (2) #10 screws between clip and u-channel and (2) #10 screws between clip and stud lips.
