Product Details
The LS connector is a cost-effective method for connecting roof rafters to hip rafters. The durable design and fastening options of these load-rated skewable angles make them an ideal option compared to field-fabricated clip angles. The LS has well-defined fastener locations, and testing ensures that the tabulated load values account for connection eccentricities.
Key Features
- The connectors are general utility-reinforcing angles with multiple uses
- Field-adjustable angles from 0° to 135° allow for attaching members intersecting at angles
- Perfect angle series for many household repairs and DIY projects
Material
- 43 mil (18 ga.)
Finish
- Galvanized or ZMAX®; some models available in stainless steel. See Corrosion Information
Installation
- Use all specified fasteners; see General Notes
- Field skewable; bend one time only
- Joist must be constrained against rotation (for example, with solid blocking) when using a single LS per connection

Load Values with Nails
These products are available with additional corrosion protection.
For stainless-steel fasteners, see Fastener Types and Sizes Specified for Simpson Strong-Tie Connectors.
- Connectors are required on both sides to achieve F2 loads in both directions.
- Fasteners: Nail dimensions in the table are listed diameter by length. SD screws are Simpson Strong-Tie® Strong-Drive SD Connector screws. For additional information, see Fastener Types and Sizes Specified for Simpson Strong-Tie Connectors.
- Using Strong-Drive SD Connector screw (SD9112) for 0.148" x 1 1/2" and 0.148" x 3" nails will get the same load as nails.
